SCMTR is not one message — it is a family of them, filed by different parties about the same voyage, with codes a character apart.

In this film

  • The short answer: forwarders, NVOCCs, consolidators and customs brokers file the Cargo Summary Notification — SACHM22, the CSN
  • Every SCMTR message, who files it, and what SCMTR does with it: the CSN filed end to end; the shipping line's manifest (SACHM23 — SAM / SDM) opened, checked and filed by the line; the transhipper's (TRCHE01) and the CFS's (CUCHE01) files read, never filed
  • Sent a SAM file? You open it — you do not file it
  • A file's name says what it is: fresh or amendment, the message, the event, the sender, the job and its date
  • Where to find the rest: the ? menu, the one drop target that reads any file, and the SCMTR Assistant
