Your SAM was rejected and the ACK names nothing — what to do

The hardest ACK to deal with: the verdict is Rejected, three blocks are ticked 00 Successful, the declaration block's list is empty, and there is not one error code anywhere to look up.

In this film

  • Drop the manifest you sent and the reply customs returned, together.
  • The reply read as a whole rather than line by line — customs' own list stays below it, unchanged.
  • Why there is nothing to look up, and why that is a fact about the reply and not about your file.
  • The one thing such a reply does tell you: which block customs left unstamped. The app is explicit that placing the fault there is a reading, not customs' word.
  • What to do: quote the tracking id, ask the helpdesk, and refile under a fresh job number.
  • Then fix it where the file is: the editor runs every check over the file you sent.
