One bill of lading, several shipping bills under it. On an export that is a consolidation, and it is filed differently from a straight bill in three ways worth knowing.
In this film
- The ship and the call it loads on first, from customs' own list of its calls.
- More than one shipping bill under this B/L, and watch what changes: the B/L keeps its own shipper, buyer and goods, and the PCIN field goes away.
- On a consolidation the B/L's shipper is you, the consolidator, shipping to your agent at the other end.
- Two containers on the bill, with the packages and weight left blank.
- Shipping bill 1: no separate house B/L, so the shipping bill's own number and date go in.
- "Does this line cover one shipping bill, or several?" — S or B, asked in words, and what customs accepts either way.
- Tick the container this shipping bill is in, and type only its share.
- Shipping bill 2: the same PCIN typed by mistake, caught in red, then put right.
- Back on the B/L, the container totals have added themselves up from the lines. Customs re-adds exactly that — a master that is not the sum of its lines is 225.
- The last screen: both PCINs named once, both boxes claimed, everything adding up.
