Customs' record confirms your own filing reached customs, shows whether the shipping line has filed its SAM (and your window to amend has closed), and whether another filer has declared something different against the same bill.

Reading a BL tracking result
- What does BL tracking show?
- With the master BL alone: when the ship reaches India, from the shipping line’s own tracking, with the route. Add the port and it also shows everything customs holds against that bill: every CSN it has accepted, whether the line’s arrival manifest (SAM / IGM) is in, and the call’s arrival status — read together as one shipment.
- Why does my house BL find nothing?
- Customs keys its enquiries on the master BL. House BL detail sits underneath the master, not as a record of its own — search the master BL the shipping line issued.
- The manifest shows “not found”. Is something wrong?
- Usually not. The line’s IGM is minted at or near the vessel’s arrival, while a CSN is filed days before, so for that whole stretch there is no manifest to find. Accepted CSNs show during exactly that period.
- Is this where the container is?
- No. Customs’ record says what was declared and whether the paperwork is in. Where the box physically is — gate-out, loaded, arrived — only the shipping line can tell you; each result links to the carrier’s own container tracking.
- Does the result match the file I sent?
- The lookup shows customs’ record and cannot see your file. Drop your CSN JSON under any result and every bill in it is laid beside the record, with each value that differs.
- Can I send a lookup to my customer or CHA?
- Yes. Every result has a Share link and QR code carrying only the BL number (and the port, if you gave one) — nothing private, and no sign-in needed to open it. In WhatsApp the link shows a preview naming the bill; Send on WhatsApp on the arrival card sends the date with it.
